Traffic Safety Unit
The Burlington Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit has the task of ensuring safe passage of all motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists throughout Burlington Township. The unit is called upon to investigate every serious injury and fatal accident that occurs in our jurisdiction. They have various levels of training from basic at scene accident investigation through accident reconstruction. Due to their knowledge and experience, members of this unit are called upon to testify as expert witnesses in court.

In addition to safe passage, the unit is responsible for pre-construction and post-construction engineering of intersections within our boundaries. The unit is also responsible for all traffic surveys and speeding complaints. The officers assigned to the unit use advanced techniques, such as deploying speed trailers, radar and a state-of-the-art traffic counting system. The Traffic Safety Unit presents traffic programs such as the Mobile Inspection detail, Driving Under the Influence Check Points, and High Intensity Traffic Enforcement as a method of bringing motorists into compliance with applicable New Jersey Motor Vehicle laws. We added several certified Child Safety Seat Technicians to assist Burlington Township residents in the proper installation and use of child safety seats.
Anyone having a question or concern regarding traffic issues can e-mail Sergeant Bremer, supervisor of the Traffic Safety Unit.
