11/26/2016 - Burlington Township Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ
– During the evening hours of November 26, 2016, the Burlington Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Route 130 South in Burlington Township, NJ. The checkpoint will last from 10:00 PM on November 26th to 3:00 AM on November 27th.

The purpose of this checkpoint is two-fold. First, we intend to educate the motoring public about the dangers of drunk driving by handing out literature to every motorist passing through the checkpoint. This literature is compliments of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Secondly, we will attempt to identify and arrest any driver who is operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The Burlington Township Police Department urges those who plan on drinking to have a designated driver, to arrange for other means of transportation or to stay where you are. Don’t allow a moment of poor judgment to risk the lives of you, a friend, a loved one or an innocent motorist.
