4/10/2018 - BTPD Arrests Residential Burglar and Requests Public Assistance
BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Friday, April 6, 2018, the Burlington Township Police Department arrested Samuel Green, 37 year old male from Edgewater Park, NJ, for burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools.
Green’s arrest was the product of an investigation that began at approximately 8:00 am that morning when officers responded to two vacant houses in the unit block of Parker Avenue and the ten block of Watts Avenue for reports of break-ins. Upon arrival, the officers discovered that Green forced entry, removed copper piping from the houses’ plumbing systems, and fled in a white minivan. The minivan was located a short time later by Florence Township Police officers in the area of South Street and Fifth Avenue in that town. The vehicle was found to contain evidence of the crimes, and Green was arrested in a nearby residence.
After his arrest, Green was transported to the Burlington Township Police Department where it was discovered that he previously burglarized another vacant house in the 400 block of Sunset Road. After processing, Green was lodged in the Burlington County Jail.
