Internship Program
The Burlington Township Police Department strives to provide positive learning environment for interested college students to experience the various aspects and responsibilities of law enforcement first hand. While rotating through operational, administrative, and support functions, the intern is provided with an atmosphere of learning through a combination of hands on and observational experiences.
To be eligible for the Internship Program, students must be enrolled in a four your degree program with a university or college in their junior or senior year. Qualified students who are Burlington Township residents will be given priority over non-residents.
To apply, students must submit a volunteer in police service application. Applicants must also be prepared to submit the following:
1) A letter of interest stating why they are interested in participating in the program
2) A current resume
3) Proof of enrollment from their university or college
4) Valid State issued Driver’s License or Identification Card
5) Internship fee of $250.00 by check made payable to “BTPD”
A complete background check will be conducted on each applicant. Selection for the program is at the discretion of the Public Safety Director.
