Interested in a career in law enforcement? Burlington Township Police Department is now hiring.

Complete this interest form and a member of BTPD will contact you to discuss further details about the application process.

Please note the following Eligibility Requirements. You MUST:

  • Be a resident of NJ with a Valid Driver's License.
  • Be at least 18 years old but not over 35 years old.
  • Possess a GED or High School Diploma.
  • Have NO dishonorable discharge from the military.
  • Be able to pass a background investigation; which includes but is not limited to:
    • No Domestic Violence related convictions.
    • No Disorderly Persons Offenses involving dishonesty, fraud, or lack of good/moral character.
    • Not to have 2 or more DWI arrests.
    • Passing a drug test.
    • Passing a psychological examination.
    • Passing a physical fitness exam in order to attend the police academy.

NOTE: If you are selected to continue with the employment process, you will be contacted via E-Mail to attend a Physical Fitness Test in July (date TBD). Please refrain from contacting the police department for an update on your inquiry.

  5. Drug Screening Test
  6. Psychological & Medical Evaluations
  7. Police Academy

 

Minimum requirements for the Physical Fitness Test:

  • Vertical Jump: Min. 12.5 inches
  • Sit-Ups: Min. 22 in 60 seconds
  • Push-Ups: Min. 19 in 60 seconds
  • 300 Meter Run: 84 seconds or less
  • 1.5 Mile Run: 19 minutes or less
