6/5/2018 - Outcome of Recent Burlington Township Police Department Participation in Click It or Ticket Mobilization

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ
- Public Safety Director Bruce Painter is pleased to announce that the Burlington Township Police Department recently participated in the national “Click it or Ticket” Seat Belt Mobilization Campaign. 

Between the dates of May 21, 2018 and June 3, 2018, officers dedicated 100 hours of patrol time to this initiative with the following results:

92 seat belt summonses
4 cell phone/texting summonses
21 suspended driver summonses
1 child restraint summons
8 careless driving summonses
13 speeding summonses
3 reckless driving summonses
177 other summonses

319 total motor vehicle summonses

In addition, officers assigned to the initiative made two DWI arrests, one CDS arrest, one hindering apprehension arrest, and three warrant arrests.

PSD Painter credits all the men and women of the Burlington Township Police Department for making this initiative so successful and for making Burlington Township a safe community.  Whereas the operational period for this initiative has ended, the Burlington Township Police Department remains committed to improving seat belt compliance in an attempt to decrease the number of traffic fatalities and injuries.
